About The Show

About The Show
Leave your gender at the door and your expectations in the cloakroom - High Heels & Bass Squeals is here to serve classical clarinet, contemporary choreography and unforgettable vocals in a genre-defying theatrical experience that’s as moving as it is mischievous.

Created by Manchester-based social media comedy musical sensation Robyn Saunders (Robin Reeds Drag King) this contemporary drag cabaret charts a path from childhood isolation and adversity to self-discovery, resilience and unapologetic joy. Through original music, high-camp storytelling and a few emotional gut-punches (don’t worry, they’re still covered in glitter), the show celebrates queer history, resilience and the art of becoming exactly who you are... preferably in heels.

Originally seed funded by Help Musicians UK, this spectacular genre (and gender) bending show returns for a UK tour in 2026/27. Expect laughs, deep feels and at least one moment where you whisper, ‘did that clarinet just read me?’
At once intimate and explosive, High Heels & Bass Squeals is a celebration of queer creativity, collaboration and survival.
This is cabaret with heart, heels and a whole lot of bass.
